There are many people in my life that I love to celebrate. Recently my brother, DJ Alstadt, and fiancée, Kelly Powers, are two people worth celebrating!
Kelly Powers is the Vice President of Powers & Sons Construction. Also, she represents her company on the Lakeside Alliance. Lakeside Alliance is a joint venture between Powers & Sons and other construction companies to build the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, Illinois. Kelly is very passionate about the mission and vision of the work they are doing. She always speaks about how the project will be transformative. Kelly talks about how she wants to leave the construction landscape different than when we first began. Recently they officially broke ground during a ceremony with President Obama. We are all very proud of her.
Next is my brother. He continues to inspire me daily! He is one of the most humble, gracious human beings I know. Growing up following in his footsteps has been very rewarding, and he blazed a path of success for me to follow. Most recently, my brother was featured on “The ‘Necks Chapter.” This podcast by Western Illinois University College of Fine Arts and Communication highlights alumni. The first interview was with DJ, the director of bands at Naperville Central High School in Naperville, IL. I celebrate not only working at NCHS for twenty years but for the countless lives that are better because of him. He will never say it, but he is a life changer, and we are all fortunate to have him in our lives.
Take a minute to celebrate those close to you. They deserve it!
